Abstract

Green constructions are defined as those buildings that adopt green technologies aiming to confer greater sustainability to construction practices, energy efficiency, comfort, and health for users. With the adoption of green constructions, it is hoped to take another step towards humanity's sustainable development. This research aimed to identify the contributions of green constructions to the fulfillment of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) of the Agenda 2030. For this purpose, a bibliographic review was conducted. The results revealed that these constructions significantly support SDGs 3, 7, 11, and 12, especially concerning sustainable management of natural resources. Independent studies also confirmed positive relationships between green constructions and other SDGs, such as 6, 8, 9, 13, and 15. These results suggest that the adoption of sustainable practices and green technologies, particularly in the construction industry, is a potential strategy for achieving the SDGs and promoting a more sustainable future.

Academic training focused on the area of construction management, with work focused on the area of budgeting, planning, control, quality management and well-being at work on construction sites. I worked in the private sector initially as a consultant in the areas of planning, budgeting and construction management and later in a large local company as a manager, working in the areas of contracts and supplies, planning, budgeting, control, new technologies and quality. As of 2020, I have been working as a professor at the Federal University of Pará (UFPA) on the Civil Engineering course.
