Abstract

Public health challenges are a consequence of the management of environmental resources. According to the OMS (2021), more than two billion people in the world do not have access to basic sanitation, highlighting the disregard for these resources. In this context, BIM is one of the most promising technologies to mitigate this problem, as using BIM it is possible to create highly accurate and detailed digital models, replicable in various regions with a workforce of diverse qualifications. These models contain crucial data for the evolution of management and construction processes. Therefore, the present work describes a roadmap to conduct the sizing and modeling of a Sewage Treatment Station (STP) using BIM methodology, as well as project justifications, requirements for implementation, presentation of technical feasibility and determining conditioning factors; the achievement of these results came about through the experience provided by project modeling. Therefore, the use of BIM methodology for modeling an ETE appears to be efficient, as it provides benefits such as accurate visualization, adequate disciplinary coordination, easy detection of conflicts and effective generation of quantities.
