Abstract

Implementing changes in traditional teaching methods to improve student learning and qualifications through active learning methodologies, such as educational games, is important. Therefore, this work aims to analyze the application of a didactic game to encourage students to learn lean concepts applied to the construction site. The work method applied the board game with undergraduate students in civil engineering, evaluating pre- and post-game learning perception. As a result, there was an improvement in the understanding of all principles through the game, with the principles of Simplification through reducing the number of parts and steps, Increasing process transparency, and Reducing cycle time being the ones that achieved the greatest understanding of students. With this, it was proven that the didactic game improved students' learning about lean principles, characterizing itself as a relevant teaching-learning tool.
