Virtual Reality (VR) has been explored in teaching practices, with notable use in Architecture and Urbanism courses. However, these applications are not equally explored across different subjects, with gaps particularly in construction technology courses. In this context, the present work aims to investigate the application of VR in teaching construction systems and materials in an Architecture and Urbanism course, in order to contribute to a better understanding of the topics covered in the classroom. The methodology included: 1. bibliographic research; 2. definition of an action plan for conducting the didactic experience; 3. organization and application of the exercise; 4. recording and conclusions regarding the results. The didactic experience addressed the use of VR for visualization and interaction with a specific construction system, considering the immersion and manipulation of 3D models. The exercise provided an experience similar to practical construction work through an interactive activity using VR. Despite its promise, the following challenges were identified: limitations in the use of software and equipment, as well as the learning curve for their handling.
