Assessment of Concrete Deterioration in Water Pumping Stations
A Case Study in the Urban Area of Belém, PA

This study aims to evaluate the structural degradation of water pumping stations (WPS) made of reinforced concrete, which form part of the heritage of water supply companies. The method involves a three-step process: (i) A structural inspection tour is conducted with the aid of Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAV) equipped with high-resolution cameras and videos to identify any structural elements or families of structural elements (FSE) that present apparent or suggestive pathological manifestations; (ii) if any pathology requiring further examination is detected, non-destructive carried out; (iii) the deterioration of FSE is measured through the GDE-UnB method, which classifies them according to the level of intervention priority. This methodology was applied to the WPS set, which forms a part of the water supply system of Belém/PA. The proposed methodology not only identifies stations requiring intervention priorities but also establishes protocols for inspection, diagnosis, recovery, and protection (IDRP), providing support for the company's maintenance, financial, and heritage management
