Visual comfort in the indoor environment is considered to be very relevant because it is an essential factor in well-being and learning in school environments. Thus, this research aims to analyze the availability of natural lighting in the classroom in Vitória-ES. In the methodology, simulations were made with the TropLux software, for the CIE standard sky typologies: Sky 3 (overcast), Sky 7 (partly cloudy) and Sky 12 (clear), Northeast orientation. Analyzes were made regarding the percentages of IDUs (Useful Daylight Illuminances) and uniformity according to ABNT. As for IDUs, analyzes were made for all days of the year, from 7 am to 5 pm. With regard to uniformity, this was analyzed on the 21st of each month (January to December) at 8:00 am, 10:00 am, 12:00 pm, 2:00 pm and 4:00 pm, as suggested by NBR 15215-4 (ABNT, 2005). The results of the simulations show that, for Céu 7 and Céu 12, 75% of the simulated hours are characterized by satisfactory natural lighting (500 <E <2.000lx). With regard to uniformity, it was in the Skies 7 and 12 at the simulated times of 10 and 12h that the best results were observed, when the existing marquee manages to guarantee shading and reduce glare.
