Abstract

This paper deals with the concept of tectonics applied as a design process and its relationship with the instrumental changes that come to be inserted with the adoption of emerging Technologies, which generate different layers of information, and thus allow a greater interaction among the various agents involved in project decision-making processes. The relevance of tectonics both in the theoretical and methodological fields is to propose a way to discuss the built environment in which its use, structure and experience are directly related to its materialization. The work has a practical case report with the construction of an experiment carried out in a workshop with architecture and engineering students, which used techniques such as parametric design, simulation and digital fabrication, pertinent to contemporary tectonic logic. The results aim to contribute to the discussion of some issues, obstacles and possibilities that are associated with this resumption of the tectonic concept, from the perspective of the progressive use of digital tools implications and how they can promote a greater dialogical relationship in the project.
