Abstract

The virtual environments have been increasingly used in collaboration processes in projects related to Architecture, Engineering and Construction (AEC). However, in order to promote greater engagement of lay users in decision-making, it is necessary to use tools that encourage their participation in the initial stages of the project. Due to the constant evolution of technology, conducting an analysis of these tools over the years can make an important contribution to collaborative design practice. The objective of this article is to analyze studies aimed at the use of technologies for virtual environments in collaboration processes in projects in the last 10 years through the Systematic Literature Review (SLR). The results make it possible to analyze what are the research areas, the evolution of publications and the similarity of keywords. Finally, the terms and concepts used are analyzed, contributing to discussions and recommendations for future research on SLR.
