Abstract

The practice of architectural design is changing rapidly and constantly due to the vast developments in Information and Communication Technology, where new dimensions of representation in the digital world are being developed in order to meet different design situations and ensure more efficient communication between all agents involved. New instruments to support the design process in partnership with users are being explored, such as immersive virtual simulations through the associated use of interactive game mechanisms and Virtual Reality (VR) technology. This article aims to investigate the potential of using game engines with VR in the practice of collaborative design through the elaboration of interactions in the virtual environment. This experience is part of the author's master's research which, at this stage, aims to enable the development of an immersive and interactive virtual simulation platform that can help in the communication process between users and designers and will enable the adoption of game engines in the practice of collaborative project.
