CONTEMPORARY TRENDS IN COMMERCIAL SPACES: THE MATERIALIZATION OF THE EVERYDAY AT THE POP + BUILDING

The everyday life of communities has been valued in architectural practices, a trend also related to real problem-based design. Daily life positively points to the common, the typical and the local, based on people's experience (SYKES, 2013). In theory, it is situated in the debate between pragmatism and regionalism. Although the concept is increasingly present among contemporary expressions, it is still little studied in mixed-use buildings that shelter activities of a commercial nature. The aim of this article is to analyze daily life in mixed buildings in the Brazilian context. The analysis is developed on methods of graphical analysis (formal), having as a case study the project of the Pop + building (2013), by Andrade Morettin, in São Paulo. The data used is mainly of a graphic nature - such as photographs, drawings and technical texts - and available in journals in the field of knowledge. The results demonstrate the materialization of everyday life, in the implementation of spaces that provide different human appropriations, in the valorization of the architectural void and in the building's dialogue with the city. It is hoped that further studies will encourage the production of an architecture that increasingly incorporates everyday elements in mixed buildings
