Abstract

Drawings are the most common way of communicating the characteristic of a design. These tools, however, require a domain by all people. If there are information failures or misunderstanding, it increases errors during the execution of the object. The present research seeks to identify how the execution of a structure occurs using only models for the transmission of the design information. Models were developed to demonstrate the characteristics of a structure with sliding parts for a technician responsible for the execution. Subsequently, an interview was conducted with this technician to analyze the process. The results indicate that the three - dimensional and the physical characteristics of the models allowed to anticipate questions of execution usually not identified. The research seeks to contribute to the adoption of complementary way of communication that reduce errors.
