AUTOCONSTRUÇÃO PELOS USUÁRIOS

Abstract

This paper is the result of a final graduation paper of the Architecture and Urbanism course and discusses the adoption of the steel structure as a construction system applied to the housing typology. Currently, the Brazilian construction industry is in constant search for new constructive technologies, in order to meet market needs, such as acceleration in construction time, sustainability and quality. The insertion of steel in the construction offers a series of advantages, which consequently collaborates to supply the needs of the great Brazilian cities and the real estate market, which aim at projects focused on solutions that increase the quality of life of the inhabitants and, at the same time, are sustainable and efficient for the urban environment. This fact drives the insertion of new industrialized constructive solutions in order to minimize such problems. In the case of building production, steel acts as a supplier in accelerating construction time, as well as reducing costs and more sustainable and efficient ways. In this context, a project was proposed, at the executive level, of a housing in metallic structure that is, of optimized assembly and that can be performed by two people.
