Requirements Management (RM) has been subject of relevant studies, while Building Commissioning (BCx) has been poorly addressed, particularly in Brazil. This article aims to compare the processes of Requirements Management and Building Commissioning, seeking to identify points of agreement, differences between these processes, as well as opportunities for improvement, especially in Building Commissioning. The methodology used was Narrative Literature Review on Requirements Management and Building Commissioning. Both processes were analyzed according to: (a) the objectives; (c) procedures; and (c) tools used in each phase of the building life cycle. The main results point out the possibility of including Building Commissioning in Requirements Management, since BCx deals with part of client requirements and could add product value. Requirements Management, in turn, can include procedures and technics from BCx to improve the evaluation of its outcomes. Thus, even though Building Commissioning has been developed to deal with building systems requirements, it has been reframed to include whole building requirements.
