Abstract

This paper presents a thermal-energetic analysis process aided by computer simulation during an industrial architecture project based on low energy consumption in Brasilia – Federal District (DF). The method used during the analysis was integrate thermal-energetic simulations with traditional steps of architectural projects, such as, preliminary study, pre-project and advanced towards the complementary part, which will validate the design strategies to achieve a Zero Energy Building (ZEB). Therefore, the simulations were made by DesignBuilder software (5.5 version) where were validate three following performance indicators: comfort percentage of occupied hours (POC), daylighting and energy consumption. Towards, some building characteristics, such as orientation, geometry, materials, openings, natural lighting and natural ventilation was validated in a 3D model of the industrial project. In summary, the simulation results show that the passive strategies designed for the building decreased 71% of energy consumption and also with 1.000 photovoltaic modules with 405W power installed the building could produce 7,450,378.00 KWh, being characterized as a ZEB, as the purpose of the project.
