The transition spaces are constructive solutions that promote passive thermal comfort to the environment and let the internal and external temperature differences less abrupt. They contribute to a pleasant and inviting environment on educational buildings. This article presents measurements of a school environment, aiming to clarify the roles of transitional spaces in the passive thermal comfort maintenance. The evaluation was done calculating measurements averages of environmental parameters: air temperature, radiant temperature, relative humidity and air velocity. The classrooms, transition spaces and external environment measurements occurred in March 2019, Brazilian summer. The measurements analysis pointed out that the Ary Monteiro Galvão state school has internal temperatures milder than Djalma Octaviano state school, identifying an increased thermal load. For a future work it is intended performing new experiments and simulations, varying transition spaces sizes and analyzing its roles on the thermal comfort.
