Abstract

There is a growing interest of researchers in estimating thermal comfort indices adapted to the local climate, understood as adaptive models. However, there are still gaps in the state of the art on how to estimate the thermal sensations of users when they are adapted to different climates. Thus, this work studied the applicability of predictive models of thermal comfort, with tourists and travel students, in spaces with mixed accommodation, in the Brazilian semi-arid climate, with users acclimated to different semi-arid climates. Longitudinal research, outline with the application of monitoring and simultaneous measurement of environmental variables, namely: air temperature, globe temperature, air velocity and relative humidity. The applicability of the PMV (Predicted Average Vote), PMVe (PMV with expected factor) and Adaptive Model indices were studied. In all evaluated scenarios, whether with artificial accommodation, natural ventilation, people adapted to climates similar to the semi-arid region of Campina Grande - PB, adapted to colder climates, adapted to warmer climates or adapted to coastal climates, the Predicted Average Vote index with a waiting factor, it obtained greater assertiveness between what was predicted and what was self-reported by the guided participants.
