The wide adoption of BIM is increasingly present around the world due to the need to improve project planning and execution. For the Brazilian construction market, this has become fundamental knowledge. Today, it is necessary to have technical knowledge of modeling, budget management, project scheduling, and the integration of these services. This work includes a practical guide, based on a case study, demonstrating the main tools used in the process, such as 3D modeling with BIM methodology, budgeting in spreadsheets, execution scheduling, and data integration, as well as 3D, 4D, and 5D simulation of the construction of the designed building. The document addresses the use of these tools and demonstrates critical points that consideration is necessary during their application, aiming to enhance productivity, reduce rework, design errors, and additional costs. As a result, they obtained an efficient practical guide to assist project management professionals in applying BIM methodology up to the fifth dimension, as well as assisting in the dissemination of technical and didactic material on BIM.
