Quality of window views
A bibliometric literature review

The presence of windows in indoor environments enables the connection between internal and external spaces, constructing the notion of landscape and contributing to the comfort, productivity, health, and well-being of users. Therefore, this study aims to analyze the panorama of scientific production investigating the relationship between the quality of view and windows between the years 2003 and 2023. The methodology consists of four stages: Article cataloging; Analysis by theme ("university," "high school," "primary school," "perception of view," "well-being," "office," and "hospital"); Year and relevance restriction, and finally, Content analysis. The analysis begins with a sample of 1,805 articles. It is possible to conclude that research on the subject shows increasing projections for almost all the themes investigated and that the most used methods for analyses related to the quality of view have employed computational simulations and experimental approaches with users. It was found that the themes "university" and "well-being" were the most addressed between the years 2003 and 2023, while the terms "high school" and "primary school" show the lowest production with gaps between these years.
