Abstract

When considering the individual x environment connection, the emergence of transdisciplinary research has induced pragmatic changes in the analyses of the system's emerging interrelationships. In this sense, the following research question arises: what factors affect the perception of environmental quality of the academic community of the Curitiba campus of UTFPR (UTFPR-CT)? The Survey method was adopted, which made it possible to collect data and create a sample of 766 respondents, based on the online application of the questionnaire prepared for the research, which was processed in SPSS software. Using the questionnaire's 7-point Likert scale, qualitative variables were transformed into quantitative ones. The study identified the variables of the constructs Accessibility (AC), Bioclimatic (BC), and Comfort Perceived by the Built Space (CE) as having similar implicit structures. Through factor analysis, the variables with the greatest similarity between groups AC, BC, and CE resulted in the factors Location (L), Environment (A), Security (S), Comfort (C), Space (E), Mobility (M), Lighting (I), Food (AL), Selective Collection (CS), Library (B), Green Areas (AV), and Internet Network (RI). The involvement of the UTFPR-CT academic community allowed a reliable diagnosis of the perceived quality at the university, that is, it can be said that the social dimension is inseparable from the environmental dimension. Thus, adequate planning of the campus environment considers the project from a systemic perspective.
