Abstract

The use of daylight in restaurants influences user experience, appetite and well-being. The study aims to evaluate the performance of daylight in the Restaurante Universitário da Universidade Federal de Sergipe- RESUN/UFS. The methodology involved on-site measurements in accordance with NBR 15215 standards, at a total of 137 points, and computer simulations using TropLux 8 software. The Annual Average Illuminance and Uniformity, DA, UDI and CS metrics were evaluated. The results, by analyzing the daylight factor metrics and their uniformity, revealed high illuminance values in the open region of the mezzanine. This observation is attributed to the extension of the window frames from the floor to the upper floor, causing excessive illumination in this specific area. The results of the simulations corroborate the behavior of the on-site measurements. The proposed sunscreens on the upper floor openings were designed to adapt the building, which was built in 1980, so that the environment meets the requirements of the standard.
