Abstract

This article demonstrates how the Line of Balance naturally incorporates a large number of concepts related to lean production, including those of a strategic nature regarding the cash flow of a project and its implications for determining flow lines in a building project. The work seeks to complement articles produced in previous editions of ENTAC and SIBRAGEC where the potential of the Line of Balance to synthesize the concepts and principles of lean production is graphically demonstrated. A survey is conducted with construction managers to assess the primacy of the economic and financial management of a project over its operational aspects or, conversely, the determinism of flow and continuity issues in the cash flow of a housing development.
