Abstract

It is known that people spend most of their time indoors, where air quality can positively or negatively influence occupants’ performance and health. Thus, the objective of this study was to evaluate users’ air quality perception and CO2 concentration in indoor environments of three office buildings in Florianópolis, southern Brazil. By relating environmental variables and occupants’ subjective responses, it was found a decrease in air quality satisfaction as air temperature and humidity ratio increased. It was also observed the importance of natural ventilation to ensure low levels of pollutants concentration, good air quality and higher prevention against respiratory diseases. In addition, a significant influence of air quality perception on users’ thermal comfort was identified.
