Abstract

BIM adoption in Brazil has increased in recent years, but its successful implementation in the construction industry sector depends on changes in the practices adopted for the design, execution, operation and maintenance of the building. Information management is the most important aspect to be considered through BIM adoption process, as it depends on data management and requires attention due digital data security. The discussion around ISO 19650 is relevant as it can assist all parties involved in the design process, particularly in what concerns information management and organization, protecting the digitization process y. This paper is part of an ongoing doctoral thesis and aims to present a review of the ISO 19.650 series, with an emphasis on information security, in order to understand the flow for the conception and digital protection of information, contributing for the discussion of the theme. The results show the importance of the theme for the successful BIM implementation, as well as the understanding of the importance of organization and digitization to preserve design information.
