Abstract

ABSTRACT: The assessment of water consumption patterns and water end uses in buildings is essential to encourage water conservation. Thus, this article aims to estimate the water end uses in two apartments located in Joinville/SC, by considering water consumption habitats and measuring water flow rates. The estimated water consumption for apartment A presented an average error rate of -5.5% over that measured by the hydrometer. The difference between the estimated and measured water consumption indicated a possible leak in the apartment B. The results showed that the shower was the fixture with the largest water consumption (30.9% in apartment A and 59.9% in apartment B), followed by the toilet (22.0% and 15.7%).
