Abstract

Standardization in the BIM Implementation process has become increasingly necessary as it optimizes the management, verification, and monitoring of the process. Unfortunately, standardization efforts in the initial implementation process are still limited, since the focus is usually only on the design phase, as evidenced by the materials produced so far available as a source of consultation and guidance. In this article, it will be approached from the historical survey related to the theme to the study conducted with an office in the initial phase of BIM implementation. The target is to identify and analyze the main difficulties of an outdated management process and the importance of standardization from the first steps of BIM implementation to accelerate and improve the management that precedes the beginning of project modeling. Therefore, this study will be based on bibliographic research in addition to research with the target audience for a practical understanding of the conception and knowledge about the subject under investigation. At the end of this work, it is expected to contribute to the improvement of management processes that encompass the BIM methodology.
