Using Power BI for quantitative analysis of architectural BIM modeling

Abstract

Budgeting is an important indicator for predicting the execution of a project. In this sense, there is a need to have reliable data for assertive application. When looking for ways to analyze these quantities effectively, it is possible to use business intelligence tools, such as Power BI. This article aims to propose an efficient dashboard to analyze quantities of an architectural BIM modeling, relating the data with the graphical appearance of the model. To this end, a case study was used with data from a model from the project sector of a construction company. After choosing this project, a study of the current panorama of difficulties in carrying out analyzes of this information was carried out. With this, the extracted quantities were processed and imported into Power BI to produce the dashboard. Finally, the proposed product resolved the difficult points of the initial panorama, facilitating data validation and communication between those involved.
